The key to successful therapy is the relationship between client and therapist. If you have trust in the therapist and believe the therapist can help you, the odds of a good outcome are high. This is supported both in my experience and in the research about the therapeutic journey.
My approach to therapy is supportive, sensitive, gently challenging and collaborative. I believe in the importance of helping people look at the issues that are difficult for us to see on our own. To me, this is one of the primary benefits of therapy--having someone encourage and support you in the sometimes difficult work of discovering who you are.
